About Us
An insured Westchester County appliance repair company, working out of White Plains since 2016.
JL Appliance Repair was built around one idea: you should know what a repair costs before somebody is standing in your kitchen, and the price you are quoted should be the price you pay.
How the work happens
Nothing comes back to a workshop. A refrigeration column is plumbed into a run of cabinetry and a wall oven is screwed into joinery, so the repair goes to the appliance rather than the other way round. A technician of ours arrives inside a window you were given at booking, with the parts that fail most on your model already in the van.
The order never changes. Take readings and read whatever the board has stored. Give one price covering parts and labor together. Wait for your yes. Only then does a panel come off.
What is different here
The prices are on the site. Every common problem carries a published starting price you can read before you dial. Almost nobody else in this trade will put one anywhere a customer can find it.
We are insured and certified. New York does not license appliance repair, so we hold the line ourselves: full insurance, a background check on everyone who comes to your door, and EPA Section 608 certification for anyone opening a sealed refrigeration system.
We turn work down. Once a repair passes half the cost of comparable new equipment on a machine already beyond two thirds of its designed life, buying is the better spend and you will hear us say so.
We take built-ins seriously. Refrigeration columns, wine cabinets, integrated dishwashers and wall ovens are all everyday work here. Getting a panel-ready unit out of fitted cabinetry without marking either the panel or the run beside it takes time, and that time is taken.
Credentials
New York does not license appliance repair, so the standard is ours to hold rather than the state’s to enforce. Every technician is insured and background-checked, and anyone opening a sealed refrigeration system holds EPA Section 608 certification. That certificate number is written onto your paperwork.
Where we work
White Plains, Scarsdale, Harrison and Chappaqua inland, and Rye, Bronxville, Larchmont and Mamaroneck along the Sound Shore, all worked out of South Broadway in White Plains.
Four things you can hold us to
- A single price agreed before a panel comes off, diagnostic included in it.
- Genuine parts wherever they can still be sourced, numbers printed on the invoice.
- Thirty days covering both the part and the labor, in writing rather than in conversation.
- A straight answer on whether the machine is worth the money at all.
Need it fixed today?
If you reach us before midday, we can normally attend the same day, within a two-hour arrival window and at a fixed price agreed before any work is carried out.
